Home Theater Installation in Tucson

Dedicated theater rooms and living-room surround systems designed, wired and calibrated by Tucson's Control4 Certified Showroom.

There are two very different projects people mean by "home theater," and the honest first question is which one you want.

The first is a living-room system: a wall-mounted display, in-wall or in-ceiling surround speakers, a subwoofer placed where it actually works rather than where it fits, every wire hidden, and one remote that a guest can pick up and use. Most Tucson homes we work in fall into this category, and it is a one- or two-day install in a finished house.

The second is a dedicated theater room — tiered seating, acoustic treatment on the walls, a projector and screen or a large direct-view display, light control, and a room built so the sound behaves. That is a design-and-build project measured in weeks, usually coordinated with a builder or remodeler.

We have been doing both in Tucson since 1994. Our founder spent the early part of his career designing and installing nightclub and commercial audio systems across the US and Mexico, which is a useful background when the question is why a room sounds wrong. We are a Control4 Certified Showroom, so you can come to Forbes Blvd and hear a working system before committing to one.

What this includes

  • Dedicated theater rooms with tiered seating and acoustic treatment
  • Living room surround systems with concealed in-wall and in-ceiling speakers
  • Projector and screen or large-format direct-view display
  • Room calibration — not just installation
  • One remote or touchscreen the whole household can actually use
  • Automated lighting and shades tied into your movie scene
  • Equipment racked and hidden out of the living space
  • Free design consultation with more than one option and price

How it works

  1. Hear it first

Visit the Control4 Certified Showroom on Forbes Blvd and use a working system. Twenty minutes here saves a lot of guesswork.

  2. Free room assessment

We measure the space, look at seating positions, sight lines, ambient light and where the wire can go — then design to the room you have.

  3. Options at more than one price

You get a scalable design so you can start with the display and surround and add projection or shades later.

  4. Install and calibrate

Our own technicians run wire, mount and rack, then calibrate speaker levels, distances and video settings for your actual seating position.

  5. Show you how to run it

Movie night should be one button. We stay until it is.

Home Theater Installation in Tucson — common questions

How much does a home theater cost in Tucson?
A living-room surround system with a wall-mounted display, concealed speakers and a single remote is a materially different budget from a dedicated theater room with tiered seating, acoustic treatment and projection. Rather than quote a figure that will not match your room, we do a free, no-obligation assessment and give you written options at more than one price point.
Can you install a theater in an existing Tucson home without tearing up walls?
Usually yes. Block and stucco construction is common here and it does constrain where wire can run, but we have been working in these houses for three decades — there is almost always an attic, a chase or an exterior route that gets the job done cleanly. We will tell you at the consultation what is achievable without demolition.
Projector or a big TV?
If the room can be darkened properly, projection still gives you the most screen for the money and the most cinematic image. If the room has significant ambient light — which describes a lot of Tucson great rooms with west-facing glass — a large direct-view display usually wins. Automated shades change that answer, which is why we often quote them together.
Do you service theaters other companies installed?
Yes. Our technicians work on existing systems constantly, including recalibrating and re-programming systems installed by others.
