Smart Home Automation in Tucson

One app, one remote, one touchscreen for lights, climate, music, shades, cameras and locks across your whole Tucson home.

Smart home automation in Tucson is not the same problem as smart home automation in a mild climate. Here the systems that earn their keep are the ones that deal with heat and sun: shades that close before the west-facing glass turns the great room into an oven, lighting that adjusts as the sun tracks across the house, HVAC that pre-cools before you get home in July rather than fighting a 40-degree swing on arrival.

We design around that. A properly automated Tucson home lets you press one button at the master bedroom keypad and have the pool lights and spa go off, the interior lighting drop to a night path, the blinds close, the alarm arm and the doors lock. From the airport, you can pre-cool the house, check the cameras and let a neighbour in.

We are authorised for Control4, Crestron Home, Savant, Lutron and Josh.ai. Because we carry five platforms rather than one, the recommendation you get is based on your house, your budget and how much customisation you actually want — not on which supplier agreement we happen to hold.

What this includes

  • One interface for lighting, climate, shades, music, video, cameras and locks
  • Scenes — 'goodnight', 'away', 'movie', 'entertaining' — as a single button
  • Secure encrypted remote control from anywhere
  • Pre-cool the house before you arrive in a Tucson summer
  • Automated shading that cuts afternoon solar gain
  • Pool, spa and landscape lighting integration
  • Works for retrofit as well as new construction
  • Free, no-obligation design consultation

Smart Home Automation in Tucson — common questions

Which platform do you recommend for a Tucson home?
Control4 for most homes — it is the most versatile and scales from one room to the whole house. Crestron Home or Savant when the project is large or the customisation demanding. Lutron whenever lighting and shading are the priority, which in Tucson they very often are. Josh.ai when you want voice control that understands normal sentences. Come to the Forbes Blvd showroom and use all of them.
Will automation actually lower my Tucson power bill?
Automated shading and lighting will measurably reduce cooling load — closing shades on west and south glass before the afternoon peak is the single most effective thing most Tucson homes can do. We will not promise a specific dollar figure, because it depends entirely on your glazing, orientation and habits. What we will do is design the shading and lighting schedule to actually target the hours that cost you money.
Can I automate a house that is already finished?
Yes — a large share of our work is retrofit. Wireless lighting control, battery and hardwired shades, in-wall keypads and network upgrades all go into finished homes without opening walls. New construction is cheaper because we can pre-wire, but retrofit is entirely normal.
Do I need a new network first?
Often, yes, and we would rather say so up front. Most consumer routers cannot carry a house full of streaming, cameras, touchscreens and control traffic reliably. A proper network is usually the least glamorous and most important line on the quote.
