A Tucson native and Marine Corps veteran, Zan brings more than 25 years of experience in the AV and low-voltage industry to the AVAS team. He began his career in the trade in 2000 and first joined Automation Specialists, one of the companies that would later become AV & Automation Specialists, more than 20 years ago. After nearly a decade with the company, Zan relocated to Phoenix, where he continued his career in the AV industry before returning to Tucson and rejoining the team in 2019. He's been with us ever since.

Lighting is a particular passion for Zan and one of his favorite parts of the job. He enjoys the challenge of taking a complex lighting system from installation through programming and testing, then seeing everything come together and perform exactly as intended. It's that combination of technical challenge, attention to detail, and a great finished result that continues to make the work rewarding for him after more than two decades in the industry.

Outside of work, Zan is a proud single dad, dog lover, and avid outdoorsman. He also has a competitive side and is an enthusiastic iRacing driver, currently racing Stadium Trucks and NASCAR Trucks. Whether he's dialing in a complex lighting system or competing on a virtual racetrack, Zan enjoys a challenge and appreciates what it takes to get all the details just right.
